They\u2019ll test the nodes to make sure the cancer hasn\u2019t spread. Your hospital stay will depend on the type of gastrectomy performed.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For the first few days, you won\u2019t be able to eat any food. Then you\u2019ll be on a clear liquid diet. When your small intestine has to digest a large amount of food at once, you may throw up or have\u00a0nausea,\u00a0cramps, or diarrhea. Many people notice these symptoms within an hour of eating.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If you feel sick a few hours later, your\u00a0blood sugar\u00a0may be rising and falling too fast.
